“Be careful with people who say the world is simple”. This is the message that Adam Balcer left for us at the interantional conference held at Bratislava (Slovakia) named “Muslims are…: challenging stereotypes, changing perceptions” organized by OSF Slovakia as part of SISUMMA´s training programme on European citizenship, minorities and multicultural coexistance.

Mr. Balcer is Project Manager of Eurasia at the WISE Institute in Poland. He is a political scientist, expert in the area of the Black Sea region and the Polish foreign policy. During his intervention in the conference he spoke about the politics of memory and identity in Europe. He warns people about nationalist and populist politicians who are using the myth of homogeneity and black-and-white narratives to create hysteria for their own benefit.
