Teachers from Austria and France spent a day in Vienna on 15 February 2017 working together in a Focus group organized by Südwind to raise awareness on the main 4 topics of our project SISUMMA: Human Rights and diversity; religious diversity and islamophobia; migration and refugees; and inclusive societies, European citizenship and participation.

Thanks to this initiative teachers shared their experience on the topics in their country. “It was very interesting to compare the Austrian and the French situation in regard of religious signs in schools, the policy on foreign languages in classes, xenophobia at school and on the way to school”, says Téclaire Ngo-Tam, Global Education Adviser and Project Manager at Südwind. They exchanged concerns, but also some tips.

As a highlight and to end a very productive day, they visited the Global Education Library BAOBAB in Vienna, which is the biggest library on Global Citizenship Education in Austria.
