Seminar ‘Theoretical Foundations of Salafism’

Between the 12nd and 16th February, the Seminar ‘Theoretical Foundations of Salafism’ will take place at the Euro-Arab Foundation in Granada (Spain), by Professor Mohamed Haddad.
- MOHAMED HADDAD. Professor at the University of Cartago (Tunisia). Doctor at the Sorbonne in Paris. Specialist in religious discourses at present and in the religious reformism of the Arab countries. Author of a large number of works on his lines of research, highlighting “Islamic Reformism: critical history” or “Islam: violence and reform strategies”, among others.
- Program: This seminar will discuss Salafism, one of the most popular and mediated currents of Islam today: Definition and characteristics of Salafism; Origin, history and evolution of Salafism; Great schools, tendencies and Salafist theorists; The fundamental texts of Salafism; The phenomenon of Salafism today; The issues addressed by Salafism and its differences with other currents; Concepts and terms used by Salafism.
